Nuclear Capable Prithvi-II Ballistic Missile Successfully Test Fired

India on Thursday (4th October 2012) successfully testfired  surface-to-surface Prithvi II Ballistic Missile from the integrated test range in Chandipur of Balasore district off Odisha coast."The test was successful," range director M.V.K.V. Prasad told the media. This testfiring was part of user trial by the Indian armed forces. The missile was blasted off from the launch complex number three in the ITR at 9.07 A.M. by personnel of the Strategic Force Command (SFC) as part of a regular training exercise. Prithvi-II, first indigenously developed strategic missile by the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO), is already a part of the Indian armed forces.
