Operating System (OS)

An Operating System works as an Interface between the User and the Computer. This is the basic definition of the Operating System. What does this mean? and what ACTUALLY an operating system does?

A Controlling division as in a school, in an organization or in a business is must to make the remaining divisions run smoothly. 

So, as we all know a computer is a collection of electrical, electronic and mechanical parts, and working with all these parts together may cause a major problem.
