  • Bulgaria's parliament on Wednesday confirmed economist Plamen Oresharski as new prime minister to head a Socialist-backed anti-crisis cabinet of technocrats, ending a post-election stalemate in the EU's poorest country.
  • India, Japan to accelerate talks on Nuclear deal, Tokyo wants CTBT (Comprehensive Test ban treaty).
  • After wrapping up his Japan visit Prime Minister ManmohanSingh leaves for Thailand on a day's visit to reinforce India's 'Look East' policy.
  • Wali-ur-Rehman a senior Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander was killed in the militant stronghold of North Waziristan, on northwest Pakistan's border with Afghanistan, Pakistani security officials and militants said.
