Telugu writer, short story writer, poet and critic Dr Ravuri Bharadwaja selected for the prestigious Jnanpith award for the year 2012. Mr Bharadwaja today (17th April 2013 - Wednesday) declared nominated for the prestegious Jnanpith Award given by the Central government for his masterpiece novel “Pakudu Rallu” a graphic account of life behind the screens of film industry is considered his magnum opus.Mr. Bharadwaja (87) has 24 volumes of short stories, nine novels, four play-lets, and five radio plays to his credit. He has also contributed profusely to children’s literature. He was earlier awarded Sahitya Akademi Award, Soviet Land Nehru Award, Telugu Akademi Award, Balsahitya Parishad Award and honarary doctorate from Nagarjuna University among others. He is the third Telugu writer to get the award, the first two are Vishwanatha Satyanarayana and Dr C Narayana Reddy.
