Tenses Basics

The word 'Tense' has been derived from a Latin word 'Tempus', which means "time" in Latin. The part of the English which says you about the time is called tense. Tenses are important part of the language. In this article we will help you to get the basic knowledge of tenses and how to tackle with the questions in any exam on tenses. The most important rule while attending any English question in a competitive exam is that never look for the answer in the option, first read the question and have the strength to find its answers without looking into options after you get the answer check that in option and choose it. But if you go for option directly you will just get confused because examiner sets options in such a way that you feel all the options are correct this will drop your confidence and you will definitely opt for a wrong option. Ok, now lets see the basic tense table here. You can download its pdf version too. Happy Reading :)

The princess too became quite fond of him and would wait for him to come. One day the Sun decided to send her a blood-red ruby as a token of his love for her. He put the gem in a silk bag, and calling a crow that was flying past, asked the bird to deliver the gem to his beloved. Crows had milky white feathers in those days and it was considered auspicious if a crow came anywhere near you. So the Sun was pleased that he had found a crow to deliver the gem. Computer Knowledge / Computer Awareness for Competitive Exams

The Computer knowledge or Computer awareness section has become an integral part of Bank Probationary Officers, Bank Clerk and Other Competitive Exams. As many people are thinking you shouldn't be a techie or a computer graduate to answer the computers section of the Bank Exams. In bank exams they are just checking whether you are familiar with computers or not... So its enough if you know the basic details of the computer (like what is it and how it works etc). The best thing with computer section is neither you shouldn't bang your head or waste time to solve the questions (as you do with Aptitude and Reasoning sections) nor you should irritate your mind daily (as you do with General Awareness section) ... you can just find out the answer with a simple glance at the given question. So automatically you can get more marks in less time.... The second best thing is the syllabus will be same for all bank exams. With a little preparation & Hardwork, you can score full marks in this section. Here we are giving you the complete details of the computers from basics with previous and practice papers of previous bank exams. Just read on.......... All the Best and Happy Reading :)

Data Interpretation

Data Interpretation,  the one of the easiest, time taking and scoring topic of the Bank Exams.  Everybody knows this fact... but people pay less attention on this area. But unfortunately in SBI PO Exam, the complete aptitude section will depend on Data Interpretation. So you should concentrate more on this area.

In this post, we shall discuss about the basics Data Interpretation.  The Data Interpretation is also called as comprehension of mathematics. Because, in reading comprehension, we have to study the passage and answer the questions followed by that passage. In the same way, in Data Interpretation, some data is given in the form of graphs, charts and tables followed by questions. We have to study, understand and analyze the data to solve the questions. Here we have to keep in mind that, even a 10th standard boy can solve these problems. But you've to solve these problems IN TIME.

So you have to practice well so that you can do the small calculations (like additions, subtractions, and simple multiplications) with a glance (see here for shortcuts in mental maths). Now lets have a look at some basic details of Data Interpretations.

Tables

All of us know what the TABLE is.... Here the Data is given in the form of rows and columns. A row is a series of cells going horizontally across the table.  A column is a series of cells going vertically or up and down the table. We have to analyze these rows and columns and should answer the questions according to them. Lets have a look at an example.  The following table gives the data of the number of computers produced by five companies namely P, Q, R, S and T over the years 2004 to 2009 (the production is in Thousands).

Pie Chart

You might have observed the Pie Charts while reading about Budget. The pie chart is a circular chart which is sectors. In a pie chart, the arc length of each sector (and consequently its central angle and area), is proportional to the quantity it represents. As we've already said, these charts are more useful while showing the percentages and ratios. Lets discuss these type of problems with an example. The following Pie - Chart shows the different colors of cars using by the 7200 people of a town.

Line Graphs

The line graph is another important type of graph. The line graph displays information as a series of data points connected by some straight line segments (or simply lines). You can simply say that the Line Graph is the graph which uses points connected by lines to show how something changes in value. Lets have a look at an example Line Graph so that we can understand the topic in detail.

Subdivided / Component Bar Diagrams

The Sub Divided / Component bar diagrams are used to represent data in which the total magnitude (bar) is divided into different parts or components. In these type of diagrams, first they make simple bars for each class taking total magnitude in that class and then divide these simple bars into parts in the ratio of various components. With an example we shall try to understand the Concept.

Assume that you have to give the data of the production of vehicles of 3 companies (name them P, Q and R) over the years 1994 to 2000.

Multiple Bar Diagram

This model is also same as the simple Bar Diagram. But the difference is, here we have to encounter more than one bar... I mean, we have to do problems with two or more vertical or horizontal bars. In these type of diagrams normally they will give the information of two different organizations (like the production of soaps of two different companies) or the information of two different items of the same organization (like the production of the soaps and shampoos of the same company) and asks questions on the given data. Have a look at an example.

Shortcut for finding Cubes

Attention Friends... we've came to know that this method is not working for some numbers... So presently we are working on more efficient method than this... We advise you to avoid this method....

In our last posts we've discussed the method of finding Squares (read that post Here). In this post we shall discuss the method of finding cubes. This is very easy and simple method. You just have to put little concentration while learning and should do little practice so that you can do the process in a easy way mentally. And another thing you should keep in mind is, we are posting the step by stem inorder to make you understand the process in detail, but you SHOULD do most of these steps MENTALLY and only should put some important final results on paper. Now lets have a look at the method. In earlier method of finding squares we'd discussed finding the squares with the formula (a+b)2, here we shall use the formula (a+b)3
Lets start with an example. Assume that you should find out the cube of 18. The general process is multiplying 18 to itself for 2 times (18 x 18 x 18). This process is time consuming and often people end up with the wrong answer caused by confusion and hurry.
Ok, now lets use our method. here you should use the formula  (a+b)= a3 +b3+ 3a2b +3ab2. But here you should be little tricky. Have a look.........
